Beginners: Make a Cushion
Saturday, 8th June 2024
9:15am: arrival for coffee and tea
9:30am - 4:00pm: course takes place
This one-day cushion course will teach the basic skills of cushion making. Participants will start by familiarising themselves with the sewing machine and overlocker. They will learn how to plan, template, cut out, and overlock your fabric before inserting an invisible zip and stitching around the fabric to create a cushion to a professional standard. Notes will be provided so that participants can refresh themselves and practice when they get home.
This course is designed for beginner sewers who have never used a sewing machine. It aims to introduce participants to sewing and allow them to develop their skills. The following day offers an intermediate learners course on making piped cushions, where participants can further their skills and practice what they have learned.
